POLICE OFFICER
BERWICK BOROUGH Qualified persons are invited to apply to the Borough of Berwick Civil Service Commission to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Patrolman for the Berwick Police Department. General Requirements: Candidates, at the time of application must: (1) Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED); (2) Be Act 120 Certified under the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Act (Act 120), or shall have successfully completed Act 120 Training and successfully passed the final exam, thus being eligible for Act 120 Certification once hired by the Borough; (3) Be a United States Citizen; (4) Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer; (5) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; and (6) Possess valid motor vehicle license and be eligible to legally operate a motor vehicle in Pennsylvania. Successful applicants must reside in the Borough of Berwick or establish a principle residence within fifteen (15) air miles of the borough border within one (1) year of hire.

Successful applicants must also meet all the requirements of the Borough's Civil Service Rules and Regulations that will include a pass/fail physical test, oral and written tests, a background investigation and polygraph examination, and if selected, be required to successfully pass a physical and psychological examination.

An application form and details of the selection process may be obtained at the Berwick Borough Building, located at 1800 North Market Street, Berwick, PA 18603. A completed application, with a $35.00 non-refundable application fee, must be filed or sent to the attention of Borough Manager Debra Force at the address above, before 4:00 PM on Monday, November 30, 2015.

The sites for required testing will be provided after all applications have been received.
