In addition to our wonderful
local downtown shopping districts and the numerous KMarts and Wal-Marts
in our area, there are also several malls and shopping outlets worth noting.
Here are some familiar, and also some lesser known retail centers close
to our community.
Area Shopping Malls
Columbia Mall

The Columbia Mall features several specialty shops, restaurants, a bookstore
and even a car dealer. Department stores including Sears, JC Penney, The
Bon-Ton and Ames are located at the mall, as well as Gap, Victoria’s
Secret, Famous Footwear, Pearle Vision, Hallmark, Bath & Body Works,

Susquehanna Valley Mall

The recently remodeled Susquehanna Valley Mall features Boscov’s,
The Bon Ton, JC Penney and Sears, as well as American Eagle Outfitters,
Gap, GapKids, BabyGap, Aeropostale, PacSun, Bath & Body Works, Nick’s
Room, and CVS. The mall also features a recently remodeled Waldenbooks,

Lycoming Mall

The Lycoming Mall is home to Kauffman’s, The Bon-Ton, JC Penney,
Sears and Value City. Lycoming Mall also features a Gap, GapKids, BabyGap,
American Eagle Outfitters, American Outfitters, Aeropostale, PacSun, Bath
& Body Works, specialty shops, Brewer’s Caffe, Dino’s
Pizza and much more.
Useful tidbit: Kauffman’s is a division of the May Department Store
family, which also includes Hecht’s, Lord & Taylor, Strawbridge’s,
Filene’s and David’s Bridal. Gift registries from any May
store are compatible with merchandise carried by Kauffman’s.
The mall complex is surrounded by a number of useful stores, including
Pier 1 Imports, the home furnishings store; Gander Mountain, which carries
outdoor recreational gear; Grizzly, machinery; A.C. Moore, a craft store;
Toy’s R’ Us; the legendary toy store for kids of all ages;
Sam’s Club, for those who buy in bulk and BigLots, a discount and
closeout store.

The Mall at Steamtown

The Mall at Steamtown features several stores not found at the malls closest
to the Bloomsburg area. These include Abercrombie & Fitch, the Disney
Store, Express, Eddie Bauer and Nine West. The mall is anchored by department

King of Prussia is the largest shopping mall in the Northeast. Located
outside of Philadelphia, the mall is literally a who’s who of the
retail industry in one building. Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor,

anchor the mall, which also consists of stores such as BCBG Max Azria,

These outlets are what originally caused consumers to flock to Reading.
